Creative Therapy allows clients to use art media as its primary mode of communication. It involves using a wide variety of art materials, for example paints, clay and craft material, to create a visual representation of thought and feelings. Creative Therapy helps people to linger in exploration of themselves and their inner world when, without it, they may run away from or avoid both.
Clay is a well know material in Art and Creative Therapy. It involves an intense and powerful tactile experience of touching and haptic involvement. Through this work, clients are in a constant interaction with their own inner self image.
Creative Therapy can be an individual activity but is often used very successfully in group situations.
